About Gentex Corp.
Gentex was established in 1974 as a manufacturer of fire protection products. They created the world’s first dual-sensor photoelectric
smoke detector that was soon adopted in the construction of future fire sensors. Gentex eventually broadened their product offerings by pioneering electrochromic automatic-dimming mirrors in 1982. By 1987, they created a whole industry behind their mirrors. The electrochromic automatic-dimming mirrors are now in over 300 vehicle models, and they continue to see advancements as Gentex evolves.
