Once the turbofan engine has been positioned correctly with the aid of a dolly or cable hoist, the final installation steps can be undertaken for attachment. As the first step for completing the installation, a bushing is installed through the engine rear mount and rear mount attaching fitting, and a bolt is then passed through the bushing and secured alongside a nut and cotter pin. On each engine forward mount bolt, a chamfered washer, flat washer, and nut should be installed, and the nut should be securely tightened with sufficient torque for safety. To reach the mount bolts, one may use the forward mount accesses. Once fasteners have been placed, pneumatic ducts are connected from the pylon to the compressor bleed-air duct and all connections are secured efficiently. Once these steps have been met, the dolly or slings may be removed from the engine as well as any related equipment.
Once all dolly and sling equipment have been removed, the fuel hose can be attached to the fuel line from the pylon. A new gasket should also always be placed between the flanges of the fuel hose and fuel line. For the receptacles of the electrical harness and thermocouples, anti-seize compounds can be applied to threading in a small amount. Then, all leads may be connected together before securing the harness safety and connector. As some of the final steps of the process, all turbine control connections are established, and the power control rod is attached to either the fuel control or electrical connection. If all steps have been met and correct installation is confirmed with visual inspection, access covers can be installed and the fuel control linkage and trim is adjusted.
