TE Connectivity is a technology company that specializes in connectivity components and sensor technology products for numerous industries including aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, oil and gas, consumer electronics, and energy.
They were founded in 1941 as Aircraft Marine Products. In July 2007, Tyco separated into three publicly independent companies: Tyco International LTD, Tyco Electronics, and Covidien LTD. Tyco Electronics changed its name to TE Connectivity on March 10, 2011. The company completed the sale of its broadband-networks business to CommScope Holding Co on August 28, 2015.

Transportation Solutions
The transportation solutions segment entails connectivity and sensor technology components. TE Connectivity’s product lines within this segment includes antennas, relays, sensors, wires, heat shrinking components, application tooling, and connector systems. There are three divisions that TE Connectivity’s transportation solutions products are geared towards:
Automotive: Manufacturers use body and chassis system technologies, convenience applications, driver information, infotainment solutions, miniaturization solutions, motor and powertrain applications, and safety/security systems provided by TE Connectivity. This includes the HSA50 chassis panel mount resistor, superseal 1.0 automotive housings, and the Faston 250 rec 1.0-2.5 MM2.
Commercial Transportation: This division centers around connectivity products designed to withstand severe environmental circumstances for heavy trucks, construction equipment, agriculture machinery, public buses, and other commercial vehicles. This includes M12 panel mounts, straight D4 PG clamps, and CeeLok FAS-T receptacle kits.
Sensors: This product portfolio involves high-performance sensors designed for use across multiple industries including consumer applications, aerospace and defense, medical solutions, commercial transportation, industrial equipment, and automotive. This includes brake cylinder position sensors, differential axle clutch position sensors, and redundant neutral position sensors.
Industrial Solutions
The industrial solutions segment encompasses products that connect and distribute power, data, and signals. TE Connectivity’s product lines within this segment includes terminals, connector systems, components, heat shrink tubing, relays, wire, and cabling. These products are geared towards the following end markets:
Industrial Equipment: The product line within this division is used in industrial controls, robotics, industrial communication, human machine interface, and power distribution. Their rail products are used in the construction of high-speed trains, light rail vehicles, metros, locomotives, and signaling switch equipment. The medical industry also uses these products in imaging, diagnostics, surgical technology, and minimally invasive interventional applications. These products include the RTD14-012 relay, the PCFN-124D2M000, and the RT334024 connector.
Aerospace, Defense, Oil, and Gas: The product line within this division involves electronic components and systems for harsh operating conditions. This includes the D-621-0012 cabling assembly, the DK-621-0639-4S data bus component, and the RT555-2-0-SP heat shrink tubing.
Energy: These products are used by utility companies within the electrical power industry for power generation, transmission, distribution, and industrial markets. This includes the Corcom BCF Series 3-P EMI filter, the ALR-BF-208-277 power system, and the CPGI-2-1838176-0-75 power system connector.
Communication Solutions
The communication solutions segment is comprised of electrical components for the data, devices, and appliances markets. The product lines within this segment involve terminals, connector systems/components, relays, heat shrink tubing, and antennas.
Data and Devices: The products within this division are used in a variety of manufacturing processes including networking equipment, data center equipment, and the wireless infrastructure industries. This includes the exothermic grounding connector, the CFP4 receptacle fiber optic, and the 20 DF pin contact splice.
Appliances: Home appliances are the key focus of this division, centering around washers, dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, cooking appliances, water heaters, and microwaves. This product line includes the Coolsplice quick connect splicer, the Buchanan wiremate poke-in, and the Power triple lock STD temp cap.
