About Rohr
Rohr, Inc. is an American manufacturer of aerospace products and aerostructures, including engine related components, thrust reversers, engine nacelles, and mounting pylons that may be utilized for commercial or military aircraft. Rohr was first founded in 1940 by Frederick H. Rohr, later incorporated in 1969. During the 1960’s and 1970’s, Rohr began manufacturing equipment for mass transit, and they produced railcars for the San Francisco BART and Washington Metro systems. During this time, they also began producing busses with their acquisition of various design rights and bus manufacturers. In the 1990’s, Rohr was listed on the New York Stock Exchange, though it was taken off once it was merged with the Goodrich Corporation in 1997. In 2012, the Goodrich Corporation was acquired by United Technologies Corporation and merged into one entity, later being merged once again with Rockwell Collins to form Collins Aerospace.
